Terms of Use

Welcome to Global Standards & Quality Institute (“GSQI,” “we,” “our,” “us”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of gsqi.org and any pages that link to these Terms (the “Site”), including documents, downloads, forms, and listings we publish (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. Who may use the Site

You must be able to form a binding contract under applicable law. If you access on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you are authorized to bind that organization, and “you” refers to that organization.

2. Changes

We may update these Terms or the Services at any time. The “Last updated” date shows the latest revision. Material changes may be highlighted on this page. Your continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

3. Informational nature; no accreditation

GSQI publishes standards, guidance, and listings for public-interest use. Unless expressly stated otherwise in a specific document issued to you by GSQI, the Site does not provide program accreditation, certification of individuals, rankings, or legal/technical advice.

Where GSQI issues an Attestation of Conformance to an organization, that attestation is governed by the Attestation/Mark-Use Rules provided to that organization and does not imply any approval beyond the scope and version specified.

4. Accounts, submissions, and participation

Some features (e.g., public comment, proposals, applications, or participation in committees) may require an account or form submission.

  • Accuracy. You must provide accurate information and keep it current.
  • Your submissions. By submitting comments, proposals, application materials, or other content (“Submissions”), you grant GSQI a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, store, publish, and create derivative works from your Submissions for the purposes of standards development, transparency, archiving, and operating the Services. You retain ownership of your Submissions.
  • Confidentiality. Do not submit confidential or proprietary information unless GSQI has agreed in writing to receive it under a separate confidentiality agreement.
  • Records. GSQI may keep records of Submissions for due process, audit, and historical purposes.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Break the law or infringe third-party rights;
  • Upload malware or attempt to interfere with the Site’s security or availability;
  • Scrape, spider, or harvest data except as permitted by robots.txt;
  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation;
  • Use GSQI names, marks, or any Attestation/Mark in a misleading way (see Section 8).

We may suspend or terminate access for violations (see Section 14).

6. Content and intellectual property

The Site and its content—including texts, standards, frameworks, graphics, logos, and layouts—are owned by GSQI or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws.

  • Limited license. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Site for informational and internal organizational purposes, subject to these Terms.
  • No resale. You may not copy, modify, distribute, host, sell, or lease Site content except as permitted by applicable law or an express GSQI license.
  • Citations. When referencing GSQI materials, include the code, version, and title where applicable (e.g., GSQI/HE-25001 v1.0). Follow our Citation & Mark-Use Guidelines.

7. Third-party links and services

The Site may link to third-party websites or services. GSQI is not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices. Your use of third-party sites is at your own risk.

8. Names, marks, and attestations

“GSQI,” “Global Standards & Quality Institute,” our logos, and any GSQI Attestation/Mark are trademarks or service marks of GSQI.

  • No implied rights. You may not use GSQI marks without our prior written permission, except for factual citations.
  • Attestation/Mark-Use. Organizations that receive an Attestation of Conformance must follow GSQI’s Mark-Use Guidelines. Misuse may lead to suspension or withdrawal of the attestation and/or legal action.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Site is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect and use personal information.

10. Disclaimers

THE SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GSQI DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

GSQI does not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that content will be current, complete, or free of defects.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GSQI AND ITS DIRECTORS, OFFICERS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR USE, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SITE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SITE IS LIMITED TO USD 100 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO GSQI FOR THE SERVICE AT ISSUE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, the limitations apply to the fullest extent permitted.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless GSQI and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Site; (b) your Submissions; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any law or third-party right.

13. Compliance; export; sanctions

You may use the Site only in compliance with applicable laws, including export control and sanctions laws. You represent that you are not located in, under the control of, or a national or resident of any country or entity subject to comprehensive U.S. sanctions.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time, with or without notice, for any reason, including suspected violations of these Terms. Upon termination, Sections intended to survive (e.g., 4–13, 15–17) will continue to apply.

15. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of Texas, USA. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Dallas, Texas, USA.

16. Notices

17. Entire agreement; severability; waiver

These Terms, together with any policies or guidelines linked within (e.g., Privacy Policy, Mark-Use Guidelines), constitute the entire agreement between you and GSQI regarding the Site. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force. Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver.
