Public Comment

Public Comment is the period when GSQI invites anyone with a stake in a standard to review a draft and submit feedback before it’s finalized.

  • Who can comment?

Accreditors, institutions, faculty, certification bodies, employers, students/learners, regulators, researchers or any stakeholder.

  • What you can comment on:

Scope, definitions, criteria/indicators, evidence requirements, feasibility, clarity, unintended impacts.

  • How it works:

    1. Draft posted with a clear version (e.g., GSQI/HE-25001 v0.9).
    2. Comment window opens (typically 30–60 days).
    3. Submit comments via the online form or by email (one issue per comment).
    4. GSQI reviews & dispositions (Accept / Accept in principle / Decline with rationale).
    5. Revised draft prepared; if material changes occur, a second comment round may open.
    6. Approval & publication as an Active standard with release notes.
  • What to include in your comment:

    • Standard code and clause/section number
    • The issue (what’s unclear / problematic / missing)
    • Suggested change (proposed wording)
    • Rationale and any references/evidence
  • Transparency:

GSQI publishes an anonymous summary of all dispositions after the window closes.

  • What Public Comment is not:

    • It is not a vote.
    • It is not a lobbying channel for endorsements or rankings.
    • It is not a compliance/certification process.
